The role

The Advanced Assembly Technician at the Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) will play a crucial role in the precision assembly of complex components and systems. The successful candidate will work on high-tech manufacturing projects, contributing to the development of innovative products and technologies. This position requires a deep understanding of advanced assembly techniques, attention to detail, and the ability to work with sophisticated tools and equipment.

Main Responsibilities:

 1.      Precision Assembly:

  • Perform assembly tasks, including the integration of mechanical, electrical, and electronic components.
  • Follow assembly instructions and technical documentation to ensure high-quality results.

 2.      Tool and Equipment Operation:

  • Operate assembly equipment and specialised tools, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Conduct routine maintenance.

3.      Quality Assurance:

  • Identify assembly issues, suggesting corrective actions as needed to maintain product integrity.

4.      Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with engineers, designers, and other technicians to solve technical challenges and optimize assembly processes.
  • Provide feedback on design and assembly processes to support continuous improvement initiatives.

5.      Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate records of assembly processes, and any deviations from standard procedures.
  • Literate to read and understand assembly documentation.

6.      Safety and Compliance:

  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices in assembly and manufacturing processes.

7.      Training and Development:

  • Stay updated on the latest assembly technologies and techniques through ongoing training and professional development.
  • Work with your mentor to ensure progression with development.
