The Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) is seeking a Digital Transformation Senior Advisor to join our growing team and help manufacturers across the UK accelerate their digital transformation journeys. Working with organisations of all sizes, you will identify opportunities to implement cutting-edge digital technologies, improve operational performance, and develop strategic road-maps that deliver real business value.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Digital Transformation Senior Advisor, you will:

  • Partner with manufacturing clients to understand business challenges and identify digital opportunities.
  • Assess current digital maturity and develop transformation strategies.
  • Advise on the adoption of technologies including AI, IoT, Digital Twins, robotics, and advanced manufacturing systems.
  • Facilitate workshops and stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Develop digital transformation roadmaps aligned to business growth objectives.
  • Support manufacturing system selection and implementation planning.
  • Lead digitalisation pilot programmes and client projects.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to the development of the wider Digital Transformation team.
  • Build strong relationships with industry partners, technology providers, and key stakeholders.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for an experienced professional who can combine technical expertise with strong commercial and stakeholder management skills.

You will have:

Experience within the manufacturing sector, ideally in roles such as manufacturing engineering, systems consulting, enterprise systems, business transformation, or digital manufacturing.

Knowledge of manufacturing and enterprise systems, including:

  • ERP
  • MRP
  • MES
  • PLM
  • IT and OT architectures

Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage senior stakeholders.

A proactive, self-motivated approach and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Desirable experience includes:

  • Digital transformation projects
  • Manufacturing systems implementation
  • Change management
  • Operational efficiency improvement
  • Leadership and people management
  • Degree-qualified in Engineering, Information Systems, Business, or a related discipline (Masters advantageous).
