We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Director to lead our Future Mobility Sector. This is a unique opportunity to join a fast-growing organisation and help shape the offerings of the sector. This is a senior, high‑influence position where you will guide sector strategy, drive financial performance and targets, project delivery and service levels, and strategic business development for the sector’s key accounts.

 

We’re looking for an experienced Director with experience of leading high performing teams to achieve and deliver financial targets and within an innovation, research, and development environment.

 

Your responsibilities will include.

  • Developing Sector specific strategy plan to maximise the relevance and impact the MTC has in its chosen industry sectors.
  • Driving sustainable sector growth.
  • Overseeing the development and maintenance of sector technology roadmaps to ensure alignment between industry sector needs and MTC capabilities
  • Managing the Sector P&L performance in line with budget and forecast expectations.
  • Providing strategic business development leadership to build and sustain key relationships across the sector and clients.
  • Providing effective governance over sector programmes and projects
  • Providing leadership for the sector team and work with the functional leads to manage performance.
  • Representing the MTC / HVMC on relevant industry sector associations and bodies.
  • Working across the HVMC to coordinate with the other Centres the work we do in the Industry Sectors.

 

Who we’re looking for.

 

Were looking for an experienced Director with Strategic Business Development experience, ideally within the Aerospace and/or Automotive sectors.

 

You’ll be used to having profit and loss responsibility in a £multi-million business as well as broad experience in business development, operational and programme management, and people management.

 

We’re looking for a natural leader with experience of leading multi-functional teams within an innovation, research, and development environment.

 

You’ll 

  • Be a strong communicator with excellent stakeholder management and relationship management skills.
  • Have the ability to identify and resolve issues using a strongly analytical approach.
  • Have excellent decision-making capability, able to manage multiple concurrent tasks and prioritise effectively.
  • Be a motivator and energiser of the team.

 

You'll ideally also have.

  • Programme and Project Management, leading large scale, or complex programmes.
  • A degree (in Business or Engineering)
  • Experience in a manufacturing industry or sector experience specific to the role
  • Experience of working in a matrix organisation structure
