This is a Permanent, Full Time vacancy that will close in {x} days at {xx:xx} BST.

We are looking for a Programme Manager to join our Programmes Team based in Coventry.

As a Programme Manager you will:

  • Lead and manage successful delivery of UKRI/Innovate UK collaborative R&D projects working across various MTC technology themes and industry sectors. 
  • Ensure consortium needs are clearly captured, understood, and effectively built into project bids.
  • Liaise with resource owners / team leaders to ensure effective use of resources in delivering project quality, cost & delivery within project scope.
  • Manage any changes to project scope via the recognised "Change Request" process.
  • Act as champion for MTC's project management processes, tools & techniques.
  • Contribute to internal continuous improvement activities relates to PM tools and processes.

Person Specification

We are looking for someone who is/has:

Essential Skills/Qualifications/Experience

  • A strong leader with significant experience in a busy projects based/professional services environment.
  • Experience of working on government-funded collaborative research & development projects.
  • Experience of Microsoft project management tools including MS Project and Excel.
  • Numerate with a strong focus on financial management.
  • Ability to identify resource requirements and negotiate availability with resource owners / team leaders.

Desirable Skills/Qualifications/Experience

  • Experience and a working understanding of delivering projects in an engineering/professional services environment.
  • An organised yet flexible approach with the ability to influence/deliver through others.
  • A natural investigatory nature with strong analytical skills.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of PMP and PMO.
  • Results driven self-starter with a positive CAN-DO approach focusing on solutions rather than problems.
  • Embraces personal and professional development.
