We are looking for a Manufacturing Process Engineer to join our Assembly team based in Coventry.

The Manufacturing Engineer – Assembly role is to design, develop and validate manufacturing/assembly processes for projects working across a broad range of technology departments and industrial sectors. Based within the MTC’s Workshop organisation the role:

  • Works with design teams to execute effective design for manufacture/assembly to meet project milestones.
  • Develops and validates manufacturing and assembly processes working alongside engineering teams and external project partners/customers.
  • Leads the creation of facility layouts to meet the needs of the manufacturing and assembly process, working with other functions (e.g. estates, H&S, simulation teams etc) to ensure layout is feasible and effective.
  • Creates process documentation such as Assembly Instructions, production method and sequence, PFMEAs, process flow charts and control plans.
  • Manages and delivers prototype and pre-production build activities to support validation of the manufacture and assembly processes, utilising our Operations teams as appropriate.
  • Co-ordinates procurement activities (internal and external)  to ensure all materials, components and tooling is available for build trials.
  • Owns and drives the resolution of manufacturing and assembly issues identified during development/validation of processes to ensure robust solutions are found that work for the end to end process, escalating to Project leads where appropriate.
  • Leads the improvement of manufacturing processes considering safety, quality, cost, efficiency and process flow.
  • Supports the project team to deliver key milestones and acts as a Technical lead for manufacturing/assembly.
